So yesterday I made a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! about my insane dealings with a shipping company.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Well I call them up this morning and they tell me that they tried to run my card twice yesterday and it came back both times declined. Well I know for a fact that I have the available funds. The individual I've been "working" with told me that it's probably because my bank isn't used to seeing such a large amount being charged so they declined it as possible fraud. Now, I used to work for a bank. It is possible that they could do this but not probable. So I call my bank and they tell me that there hasn't been anything declined or in the last 24 hours. They said the last time it was run was when I spent $22 yesterday at Lowe's. So now my bullshit meter is at an all time high and I'm even more pissed off with this company. I tell my bank that I will be making two rather large payments just in case and they say "No problem.". Call the shipping company back and let them know everything and now the guy starts getting a little upset. He tells me that his accounting section won't even try to process the payment again because he says it'll look like fraud on his part. I told him to go ahead because my bank has put in an exception to make sure this goes through. He says no and tells me that I'll have to do a direct deposit into the trucking company's account that he contracted to move the car. That sounds like a load or horse shit. I'm supposed to be paying Door To Door and he's supposed to pay the driver that he contracted through. Any thoughts?

Oh yea. They've got it all the way to about 10 minutes away from me and they refuse to give me the location of it because they haven't taken the money for the first move from Virginia to Washington. They told me that they will not release the location until after the payment has processed for the first trip saying that I could pay for the second trip and completely skip out on the first trip (even though they have a payment authorization form that states to pay for the first trip).

Sorry dude but I think you're in the midst of a scam. Your card is "rejected" so they refuse to accept that then tell you that you need to pay the driver directly and to contact him for payment details for the bank transfer, then when you call him he will refuse bank transfer and tell you cash only. Oh, and the agreed upon price will go up becasue you now have to "cover his lost time" waiting for you to pay. And then you're stuck with them either holding your car while you get a lawyer and fight it out in court (you wont see your car for 6 -12 months or more) or pay him the extra $ to get your car.

go get a bank check. take a picture send it to the guy. say you will go get your car and hand it over. if they dont call the police?

As MrTheEngineer said, this seems like a scam. Since you said you were stationed in Alaska I assume you are Army, or at least military. Go to SJA, and deal any communication with the shipping company through them from now on. Document EVERYTHING.

Close. I'm actually Air Force. I'm not thinking it's a scam, they have been in business for a while with a lot of good reviews. It seem that most of the bad reviews are for the same shit I'm going through.

The company I went through contracted another company to actually ship the car. I've only spoken to the first company. I don't even know the company they used.

Ah. Honestly, since it is your property and they are being difficult trying to work with you, I still would just hit up SJA, no harm in it. I've had a few small problems in the past, usually property managers, that once you involve SJA, it just takes 1 call and then all of a sudden they want to work with you.

Not yet. I did get in contact with my Base Legal office and I'll be talking to them later on today. Not sure how much they can do on a civilian matter but we'll see.
